The birth anniversary of Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated across the world on December 25 with great devotion, joy, and a spirit of brotherhood. In connection with this sacred occasion, a grand Shobha Yatra was organised today in the city of Qadian, witnessing enthusiastic participation from the Christian community as well as people of other faiths.
The Shobha Yatra was led by Father Albin and commenced from St. Joseph Church. Religious leaders including Amanat Masih, William, Robin Masih, Sister Josiah, Mother Litty and Bau Jaspal Hans accompanied the procession. The yatra featured devotional hymns, prayers and displays highlighting the life, teachings and message of love and peace of Lord Jesus Christ.
The procession passed through the main bazaar of Qadian and proceeded via Harchowal Road before concluding back at St. Joseph Church. Throughout the route, residents of the city warmly welcomed the Shobha Yatra by showering flowers and extending greetings, reflecting communal harmony and mutual respect.
Senior leader Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa was present on the occasion as a special guest. Addressing the gathering, he extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community and said that the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ — love, sacrifice, service and peace — are relevant for humanity even today. He added that such religious events strengthen social unity and promote harmony among different communities.
Several prominent personalities and social workers participated in the Shobha Yatra, including Dr. Moti Lal, Kulwant Masih, Baldev Masih, George Masih, Des Raj, Sarpanch Sulakhan Masih, Dalbir Masih, Satpal Masih, Satnam, Rita, Neelu, Emmanuel Mantu and many other respected citizens.
The Shobha Yatra concluded with a special prayer service seeking peace, prosperity and well-being for the city, the nation and the entire world. On the eve of Christmas celebrations, the atmosphere in Qadian was filled with joy, devotion and a strong sense of brotherhood.
