Batala, February 19 (Salam Tari): Punjab’s Working President and MLA Sherry Kalsi inspected the ongoing construction work of City Road, Bank Colony in Batala as part of the development projects being carried out in the city. During the visit, he instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the work is completed within the specified timeframe so that residents do not face inconvenience.
On the occasion, Chairman Manik Mehta and other prominent personalities were also present.
Speaking to the media, MLA Sherry Kalsi said that for a long time, residents of the area had been facing difficulties due to the poor condition and non-construction of the road. Keeping in view the long-pending demand of the people, the road construction work has now been initiated and will be completed soon.
He added that he remains committed to resolving the issues of the constituency residents on a priority basis and stays in constant touch with the public to address their concerns.
Highlighting other development works in Batala city, he said that to ease traffic congestion, roads are being widened and electricity poles have been shifted away from the road margins. A new bridge is being constructed over the Hansli drain. Beautiful parks have been developed in the city and major intersections have been widened. Additionally, a new tehsil complex has been constructed to provide various government services to citizens under one roof.
